Inclusive Astronomy

Lay your hands on actual astronomical objects and discover their features and personality. Touch the 3d printed models and push them down on the board to hear the wonderful tales they have to share!

This innovative exhibit showcases models of various natural and man-made astronomical objects in a new, accessible way with particular attention to visually impaired people. You will be able to physically feel the objects and their features with your hands but you’ll also hear the object talking and narrate to you as if they are sentient: press them down on the board to trigger the interaction and they will talk to you and share many wonderful things about the cosmos, each in their own unique way.

The piece wants to be a proof of concept for alternative ways to reach people who normally would be excluded from enjoying astronomy outreach content; it is also a way to employ interactive storytelling and creative technologies in educational and scientific environments.
