Urbanistic Forest

The futuristic tree is an interactive installation that is touch-sensitive. Each branch presents different ambient, experimental sound, recorded, and synthesized using the software. When the top is touched, it sends a signal to the touch board. The bare conductive board then sends it to the Ableton software, where the sound is triggered and monitored, along with the experimental music via speakers. A sound of the contemporary future. This piece talks about nature, which is changing; this piece talks about humans overtaking the natural world and transforming it into the synthetic one, with fake trees—Shinny and flashing trees in a shinny flashing city. The city is becoming a forest, and the forest is becoming a city. Is the sound of the world just a random composition that we have no control over, or are we it’s composers and performers responsible for giving it form and beauty? (Schafer, 1993).
